Looks like that Facebook campaign truly paid off. Betty White is officially heading to the Saturday Night Live stage! White is one "it" lady at the moment, and everyone seems to want a piece of little ol' Betty and I can't wait! With her recent comedic acts at award ceramonies, and because she can still pack a punch at 88 years old. This is THE perfect host for SNL. Remember she is the one that called Barack Obama "one hot piece of man", enough said.
NBC has yet to confirm that she will be appearing on the show, but various sources have now reported its a done deal. As well as White herself saying "yes" when asked if she will be appearing on the iconic SNL stage, while attending Elton John's post-Oscar party. White who also recently starred in a Snicker's commercial during the Super Bowl, has truly caused a few heads to roll in laughter and it seems like it won't be the last.
Those 500,00 Facebook fans should be pretty pleased with themselves, rock on Betty White!

Hooray for TV! Entertainment Weekly and TheHollywood Reporter are reporting that Fringe has been renewed for a third season by FOX whereas the ABC family drama Brothers & Sisters has been renewed for a fifth season.
This shouldn't come as a surprise for Brothers & Sisters fans, but there were some concerns for Fringe's falling ratings that eventually lead it to some danger of being cancelled. This should certainly be a relief for Fringe fans. Rejoice!
Finally NBC does something good! With the renewal of Parks and Recreation a month ago, many were wondering whether comedy favorite Community will be making it, well wait no longer! NBC has announced the renewal of three of their shows, 30 Rock, The Office and Community. With the obvious choices between The Office and 30 Rock, for the rookie show Community the cast was overjoyed with the announcement. Stating on their twitter: "We just got called into the make-up trailer and told that WE GOT PICKED UP FOR A SECOND SEASON!".
With Community currently in its first season, 30 Rock in its fourth and The Office at its sixth season, it seems like things couldn't be any better for these NBC shows.

Love is in the air for Ugly Betty! With the show coming to its end, it was only a matter of time before a new love interest enters Betty's life, but surprisingly Betty isn't the only one. Betty's nephew Justin will find himself unexpectedly in a new love triangle with his new friends Austin and Lily. Which comes as no surprise since creator Silvio Horta mentioned that Justin's sexuality will be addressed somewhat near the finale. Meanwhile Betty has to deal with her own dilemma when Gossip Girl's Aaron Tveit is set to star as Richard, a young playwright who is set to profile at MODE (Where Betty works) and of course sparks will fly between the two.
Ugly Betty returns March 17th at 10/9c on ABC.
You can check out the rest of the promo pictures after the jump. Warning Spoilers!
The legend that is Betty White may soon be appearing on NBC's Saturday Night Live thanks to massive fan petitions and heavy demands, but it may not be to host the show. Although 88 years old, Betty White can surely still pack a punch. And with her hilarious Screen Actors Guild Awards speech that remains one of the TV highlights of this year, I fully back this decision. Get her on SNL!
However Entertainment Weekly is reporting that instead of hosting the show White will be part of a "Women of Comedy" special alongside former SNL stars Tina Fey, Molly Shannon and Amy Poehler which are just some of the possible names appearing alongside White.
This decision has been made to aid Betty White not having to constantly host the show for a full 90 minutes (Hey remember she's 88!) whilst also bringing in the brilliance that is Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. Whether this is the final decision has not been confirmed, but it sounds like a pretty brilliant idea!
What do you think of a possible "Women of Comedy" special? Let me know in the comments below.
American Idol castoff Angela Martin, who recently got told she would not participate in the Top 24 has recieved an amazing consolation prize from none other than Idol judgeEllen DeGeneres.Watch the video here.

The show's fans recently had doubts for the renewal of the show due to its average ratings and remaining on the bubble between renewal and cancellation. However the show does return later this year with its first 10 episodes, however whether ABC Family does order more its up to the ratings.
Heres your first look at Jennifer Lopez's guest appearance on an upcoming episode of 'How I Met Your Mother'. Once again the unstoppable Barney Stinson is lured in by another women, and surprise! Its Jennifer Lopez. Formerly known as J.Lo, Lopez will be starring as Anita, a self-help author who tries to seduce Neil Patrick Harris's character Barney into falling in love with her. The episode will air March 8th on CBS.
Meanwhile "Jenny From the Block" seems to be making appearances everywhere lately. With a hosting gig at Saturday Night Live coming up February 27th. Though it may seem like a while, slowly the TV season is coming to an end and sure enough each network is (slowly) announcing the season finale dates for their shows. NBC announced theirs a couple of weeks ago and now its FOX's turn. Among them is the season finale dates for House, 24, Glee, Bones and many more! So read after the jump to find out when their seasons come to an end.
If you're like me and still shocked at the whole lacluster ending to Desperate Housewive's Karl then you are not alone. Zap2it's Jethro Nededog recently sat down with executive producer Bob Daily about the sudden departure of Richard Burgi's character and why it was such a tough decision. Here is an excerpt from the interview:
Our readers would hate us if we didn't ask you this. Can you talk
about the thought process of either killing Karl or Orson in the plane
crash? That was a very difficult position, because we loved
Richard Burgi. Everybody in the show from the writers down to the Kraft
services people loved Richard Burgi. He was just a favorite of
everybody, so that was a really tough decision. I think Marc felt like
that relationship with Bree and Karl was really fun, but it was so
uncharacteristic for Bree that I think the feeling was to keep that
going would have been difficult and would have transformed Bree's
character in a way. I think audiences like to see characters change a
little, but I really think they want them to return to who they are.
While that was a great moment for Bree, having that sort of unbridled
sexual relationship with a guy she had nothing in common with, we felt
at the end of the day, she needed to go back to being Bree. It was
going to be tough to do that with Karl.
You can read the rest of the interview at Zap2it meanwhile what do you think of Desperate Housewive's having killed off Karl? Should we take Teri Hatcher's suggestion and bring Richard Burgi back as Karl's evil twin brother?

The Twitter sensation"Shit My Dad Says" is becoming a TV pilot by CBS, and they have cast none other than William Shatner to play the dad. Good casting? I think so!
Casting of other characters such as Justin (the son who made the twitter account) is still being decided upon, however the casting of Shatner has allowed CBS to start a multicamera family comedy show, based solely on the Twitter account. The account having launched last year in August has more than 1.16 million followers and will surely have a lot more once the TV show is launched.

Its that time of the year, TV networks are negotiating what's in and what's out. Now whether your show gets renewed for its next season is up to the all important ratings, but it could also be on the bubble between renewed and cancelled. So prepare to be anxious for the next seven months, but until then I've compiled a handy renewed/cancelled table to see where your favorite shows are currently heading.

Fans of The CW show 'Supernatural' prepare to get excited! Rumours are spilling that creator of Supernatural Eric Kripke has warmed up to the idea of expanding the show past its fifth season limit. And funnily enough The CW seem to like the idea too, which considering all the network tends to cater for lately is teenage girls this seems like a good sign for a show that doesn't necessarily involve scandal, sex, money, models and rich girls.
Meanwhile the Wicked Witch of the Networks, CW Entertainment president Dawn Ostroff (yeah her!) said the possibility of a sixth season wouldn't be a bad idea and that the network is "rooting" for the show. "We all hope there's another season for the show," Ostroff says. "Based
on the ratings so far and based on the season they've been having, I think
there's good reason to have positive hope."
Yeah I'm not buying anything from her either, but if you must hear what she has to say about the show then watch this clip at the recent celebration of Supernatural's 100th episode.
If you're like me and desperately missing Nicollette Sheridan's character Edie Britt who was killed off last season on Desperate Housewives, not to worry! The shows producers agree and have gone on to find the new 'Edie' who executive producer Bob Daily describes as "A great person to have on The Lane, the sort of vixen troublemaker. That's a great person to have on
a television show." Well I'm pretty sure like many suggested that soon enough the producers will be kicking themselves for killing off her character, but can there ever really be another Edie?
Well Bob Daily doesn't think so adding: "I think Nicollette was so great as that sort of blonde bombshell, I think we'd probably not go in that direction again
just because we've had that". The producers have also decided whoever they cast will be playing a recurring role in the next season, but will make an appearance sometime this season and will be stirring up some trouble.
Lets make her Edie's long lost sister because honestly can anyone ever replace the fiery Edie Britt?

Its a good day to be NBC. Friday's Vancouver Olympic Opening Ceremony averaged a total of 32.6 million viewers and earned a national ratings share of 17.3/30 an increase of 35 percent over Torino in 2006. That should be pretty impressive for a network that estimated they would be losing 250 million because of the Olympics.
And because of those impressive numbers this years Olympics ceremony was the most-watched opening ceremony for a non U.S. Winter Olympics ever. The 32.6 million viewers that watched on NBC helped the network reach 47 percent higher than Torino (who got 22.2 million viewers) and had an overall of 67.5 million viewers. This years opening ceremony also broke another record for the most-watched opening ceremony in 16 years just below the 33.8 million for the tabloid-fueled Lillehammer Games in 1994.
So I'd say that's a pretty good start to the Winter Olympics, did you watch?

Things aren't looking good for ABC's 'FlashForward'. Just a few days ago it was announced David Goyer, FlashForward's second showrunner was stepping down. And now things seems to be getting worse. ABC has gone and assigned three new showrunners to the struggling show. Jessika Borsiczky, Lisa Zwerling and Tim Lea will all three be serving as the new showrunners for the show.
Meanwhile to add insult to injury ABC has gone and decreased the number of ordered episodes from 23 to 22, having initially started out with an episode order of 24. Ouch!
Things are looking bad for the show and returning in March doesn't help it either. Lets hope the show picks up some pace before its to late. And at the moment its clearly in some severe danger.
Well mark those calendars its that time of the year again, the dreaded end of the TV season. Although still a few months away NBC has gone ahead and announced what shows will end when. However it could also be the fear of never seeing those shows again after their season finales, that makes the end of the TV season even more disappointing.
And lets be honest, NBC has had one horrible TV season. If it wasn't the whole Conan-gate situation, it was Heroes tumbling ratings. So I think NBC will be pretty happy to put this one behind them. Some good news however has come out of their current TV season, 'Parks and Recreation' was (of course) renewed for a third season. And if anything this really is the little show that could, sure they don't get amazingly great ratings but clearly exec's at NBC think its been a good run so far.
So to help NBC put this TV season behind them, read the finale schedule after the jump!

A few weeks ago we saw Jay Leno appear on the 'Opray Winfrey Show' when he decided to come clean about Conan-gate and the entire mess caused by NBC (not to mention himself). Now critics have evaluated this move over and over again, was this really a good move by Leno's team?
Sure he may be the most hated person on television (at the moment) but does having some face time with Oprah really clear the consequences both he and Conan O'Brien endured? Probably not, and with rumours circulating Conan might soon end up on FOX its more image rehabilitation time from Leno's side.
And with the Super Bowl on at the moment who can't help but watch this really awkward Super Bowl ad between Jay Leno, Oprah and David Letterman. What's even more peculiar? Its advertising Letterman's show!
The NY Times and LA Times both have great articles on how the entire concept came about, meanwhile you can watch the contraversial video after the jump.
